Yes, this is late. About three weeks late so I’m sure you’ve all received your ‘GIRLS’ gossip already. With that being said, I’m only going to address one main point from episode 5 “Hard Being Easy”. Well maybe two things.

1) Poor Marnie. She is stuck with a guy aka: Charlie (or was stuck) who is just too ‘nice’. Is this even a real thing? A guy being too nice. YES. If you’re a female reading this (and maybe even a male), you know this statement to be entirely true. It’s like why can’t women like the nice, good guys? For most of us, it takes years of getting bashed on the head, sitting in deep pain and crying profusely over the ‘guy that got away’ before we realize that ‘unavailable’ men suck. Yes, SUCK.

Seeing Marnie and Charlie have makeup sex reminded me so much of past relationships I stayed in just to avoid being alone (even if I was unhappy). Her desperation and fear was so obvious after he found Hannah’s dairy. Marnie would do anything to convince Charlie he was the ‘one’. After successfully convincing him, they sleep together (while having sex he tells her to stay close to his face etc) and she realizes (during the act) she can’t do the ‘Marnie Charlie’ thing anymore.

Cheers to you Marnie. Here here.

2) Oh Hannah. Sweet, I’ll do anything for you to like me Hannah. The scene where Hannah is watching Adam masturbate on his bed is just, well, really freaking uncomfortable and degrading but I guess thats the point right? To stir some old sh*t up from the past, to evoke emotional things and such, to make me feel – that’s what TV and Film are about though, for me at least. To make you think. To make you cry. To inspire you. To make you dream. To make you find your inner, happy place. It’s art really and that’s its goal.

Okay kids, that’s my rant for the day. I’ll have rundowns on episodes 6 + 7 tomorrow.

Toodles.
