I’ve come to the conclusion that ‘Girls’ main objective is to make the viewer completely uncomfortable (ie: when you’re watching something really too relatable, you squirm under your covers in your bed as you continue to watch – you KNOW what I’m talking about).

I feel like every scene has some element where you’re like ‘oh wow, yeah I identify’. In episode 6 of the highly controversial HBO show ‘Girls’, many fun things happen. I wouldn’t say it was my favorite episode BUT I could/can relate. However, I can’t really relate to Hannah using a big black trash bag in the place of an actual suitcase. Yah. Not me.

I felt bad for Hannah in the sex scene with the pharmacist dude.

We can get so accustomed to what ‘we think’ someone likes, what we think society says is ‘right’ only to forget nothing is really cookie cutter. There isn’t one way to do anything. As Hannah so clearly realizes, sex is going to be different with each person but I think something more important to mention is the way she made herself look/be viewed in front of the pharmacist friend. It was like she was screaming I’M A SEX OBJECT/TOY. Really she wasn’t showing any sign of self respect for herself and we all know what comes with this choice – the opposite person/party not respecting you. Hmm. Fun stuff to marinate in.

I still love you though Hannah.

Episode 7 coming soon.
